Assignment #1 - Scavenger Hunt

...you were right, there's not a lot you really need to do to a photograph in post production to make it look good. It seems to me that the photographer's art must deal primarily with subject matter and story, which are then enhanced by post production processes. My focus in the assignments from here on out will be on not only what I am taking a photograph of but WHY. This is what makes a truly interesting photograph. This is more interesting to me than striving to top everyone's picture of a pretty flower or the mountains just because they look cool. Unless the mountain has some sort of story attached to it, I'll think twice about shooting it.
